A striking genuine cutting error — this Reserve Bank of India ₹20 Note was miscut during production, resulting in a visibly off-centre note with an extra white margin at the bottom and the top design partially cropped. A rare find that slipped through RBI quality control.
The Error:
- Error Type: Miscut / Cutting Error – Off-Centre
- Visible shift: Note shifted upward during cutting – extra white border at bottom, design cropped at top
- Both serials intact: 67B 960072 (top and bottom)
Note Details:
- Denomination: ₹20 (Twenty Rupees)
- Series: 67B
- Serial Number: 960072
- Design: Mahatma Gandhi series with Ellora Caves reverse
- Issuer: Reserve Bank of India
- Condition: Uncirculated / Crisp
Miscut error notes are among the most visually dramatic errors in Indian currency collecting. The off-centre cut is immediately visible and undeniable — a conversation piece and a genuine rarity. These notes are increasingly difficult to find as RBI quality control has improved over the years, making surviving examples all the more valuable.
